The 3rd Dragoon Guards was
raised as the Earl of Plymouths regiment of Horse in 1685. becoming the
3rd regiment of Dragoon Guards in 1746.
Regimental Honours.
1701 - 1705 Blenheim, Ramillies, Oudenarde and
Malplaquet during the war of Spanish Succession.
1756 - 1763, Warburg during the Seven years war
1793 - 1802, Beaumont and Willems during the French
revolutionary wars.
1808 - 1802 Talavera, Albuhera, Vittoria, peninsula
during the Peninsula War
1867 - 1868 The Abyssinian war
1899 - 1902, The South African war
1914 - 1914, Ypres 1914, and 1915, Loos, Arrass
1917, Scarpe 1917, St Quentin, Avre, Amiens, Hindenburg Line, Mons, in
France and Flanders
