Raised in 1715, as Wynne's dragoons, changing their name to the 9th
Queen's Royal lancers in 1822.

The regiment has received 14 Victoria Cross's, 12 of these were
awarded during the Indian Mutiny, one during the Zulu war, and one during
the First World war,
12th Royal Lancers (Prince of Wales's)
Raised in 1715 as Bowles Dragoons, later becoming the 12th (The Prince
of Wales's) Royal Lancers in 1817.

Counter Charge of the 12th and 13th Light Dragoons
by Chris Collingwood Lord Uxbridge commits the Light Dragoons against the French
Cuirassiers and Chasseurs, who are driven over the ridge and down the
slope. This action happened many times during the battle.
